Coastal Habitat and Water Quality Initiative

Get involved

The best restoration projects start with the best information — and the right people around the table. Whether you bring research, resources, or construction expertise, there's a way to move this work forward together.

Partnerships

Bring your research to the table

C-HAWQ's work runs on good science. We partner with universities, agencies, nonprofits, and independent researchers who hold data, studies, tools, or field experience that can strengthen a project.

If you have research, information, or resources that could help solve a water quality or habitat problem, we want to hear from you. The best projects happen when the best information is on the table.

Give

Fund the next generation of coastal scientists

When you give to C-HAWQ, you're funding students to do science that matters. We put graduate and PhD researchers on real-world restoration projects — the kind of applied, in-the-field work their programs often can't offer. They build experience that shapes careers. Municipalities get rigorous science they couldn't otherwise afford. And Florida's coastline gets one step closer to restoration.

Florida lists 2,201 impaired bodies of water. Most communities know they have a problem; few have the scientific resources to prove the cause or the fix. Every gift helps close that gap. Donations are tax-deductible — we're a registered 501(c)(3).

For general contractors

We're growing a network of skilled Florida contractors ready to bid on and build quality coastal projects. Membership is free. Registered contractors get early visibility into project pipelines, public meeting notes, and municipal procurement activity across the state — so qualified builders know about opportunities at the same time, and procurement stays competitive and transparent.

If you build coastal infrastructure and want to be in the room when these projects move, join the network.
